Future Spacecraft Missions for Planetary Defense Preparation
In this paper we recommend the next spacecraft missions that should be flown to advance planetary defense capabilities: a space-based IR near-Earth object (NEO) survey telescope; a rapid-response NEO reconnaissance demo; and an NEO mitigation demo. Additional missions should be flown over time to continue improving planetary defense preparedness.
