Despite the many billions of dollars spent on Apollo, no polar orbiter was flown, and it was almost by chance that water at the poles was discovered — many years later. Are we about to make similar mistakes in the Artemis Program regarding South Pole Aitken Basic Sample Return and a Global Lunar Geophysical Network? It seems entirely possible.
