The Value of Participating Scientist Programs to NASA’s Planetary Science Division
Participating Scientist programs provide significant value by increasing intellectual diversity within mission teams, enhancing the science return for NASA. They also increase demographic diversity, and open new pathways for mission participation. These programs should be included on every mission, whether competed or directed.
