An Unexpected Story: The Making of Early Astrophysics
In this paper I will examine the surprising early history of astrophysics through the careers of three people who are each representative of one stage in what I will refer to as the first three stages in the development of astrophysics: William Huggins, V.M. Slipher and Anton Pannekoek.
