Presentation #416.02 in the session Plenary Session: Looking Forward/Looking Back.
The past year has been an amazingly successful one for NASA’s most ambitious science mission, the James Webb Space Telescope. I will briefly review the launch and commissioning phases and discuss the challenges the team faced during these exciting months. I will talk about the early engineering image results culminating in the Early Release Observations and Early Release Science program. Finally, I will discuss the upcoming Cycle 2 deadline and capabilities the observatory will have for this second round of community proposals.
