A Long-Term North American Ground-Based Observing Program: Scaffolding for Geospace Research at the System Level and Space Weather Research

Long-term ground-based observations from across the US and Canada play a key role in informing our understanding of the multi-scale processes by which fundamental processes are spun up to have system-level consequences. I am recommending a ‘scaffolding program’ wherein key networks would provide long-term multi-scale observations that inform our fundamental science and our space weather goals.
