DWTS (Doppler Wind and Temperature Sensor): A paradigm shift in remote sensing of winds and temperatures from low-Earth orbit
A major advance in global mesosphere and lower thermosphere (MLT) wind and temperature observation is ready to be demonstrated from LEO using an instrument named DWTS (Doppler Wind and Temperature Sounder). This white paper describes the DWTS concept, a soon to be launched pathfinder instrument and the goal of observing global MLT winds and temperatures using a constellation of DWTS CubeSats.
