Using the Application Usability Levels for tracking the health of Heliophysics

Application Usability Levels (AULs) provide a means of tracking the stages of research development. We suggest that funding bodies use the AULs to help track progress of the heliophysics field. The AULs should be used to help inform where new datasets & thus new missions are needed, determine where new funding lines to develop new models, and determine common roadblocks across the community exist.
