The Need for More Capable Space-Based Global Auroral Imagers
Fundamental questions concerning how auroral features are related to one another and to processes in the magnetosphere remain unclear. Limitations with past global auroral imagers are discussed. Critical open questions are summarized and types of next-generation more-capable global auroral imagers that can be used to answer these questions are discussed
