An Advanced Low-Band VHF Radar for Atmospheric, Geospace, and Solar Research

The construction of a multistatic, imaging, low-band VHF (20-80 MHz) radar observatory would allow high-resolution vector measurements of incoherent scatter from the ionosphere and coherent scatter from the neutral atmosphere through the plasmasphere, and would change the nature of what can be observed. Paired with a powerful transmitter, radar measurements of the sun would also be possible.
