Solar Research Using an Advanced VHF Heliospheric Radar

A powerful low-band VHF (20-80 MHz) radar will enable renewed radar measurements of the sun. Solar radar will be a game changer for solar physics research, including studies of the micro and macrophysics of the corona, and would improve space weather prediction and monitoring, allowing early warning of earth-directed coronal mass ejections, which are important drivers of space weather.
