What Lies Outside of the Heliopause: Connecting the Outer Heliosphere with the Very Local Interstellar Medium

The size, shape, and plasma properties of the outer heliosphere depend critically on the neutral density, and magnetic field of the surrounding Very Local Interstellar Medium. Major questions concern the interactions of the heliosphere with its environment, and how astrospheres should differ from the today’s heliosphere as a result of different properties in their interstellar environments.
