Probing the Structure and Dynamics of the Solar Core with Gravity Modes

The rotation and mixing of the core of the Sun, which control solar evolution and the present-day Sun, remain poorly constrained in spite of their crucial importance. The detection of a few gravity (g)-modes should enable the helioseismic probing of the solar core much like that already achieved for the outer radiative zone and convection zone with pressure (p)-modes.
