Geospace: The naturally occurring plasma laboratory

This white paper argues for the merit in addressing space physics problems that are core to plasma physics, regardless of discipline or application. We recommend: 1) Consider plasma physics to be a fundamental science topic within space physics and therefore relevant to NASA investigations, and 2) annual solicitation of the NASA B.3 Heliophysics Theory, Modeling, and Simulations (HTMS) program.
