The entire Heliophysics research system hinders/ discourages proper work-life balance. A core issue stems from the culture of “work-above-life” associated with mission development and implementation but also the expectations that seem to originate from announcements by agencies. We are calling for work-life balance plans and implementation to be a criterion used for mission down-selection.
