Advancing Space Science Requires NASA Support for Coordination Between the Science Mission Directorate Communities

There is a growing awareness within the space science community that cross-disciplinary studies will make the greatest advances toward many major scientific objectives. This requires coordination and collaboration between the communities represented by the NASA SMD Divisions. We outline here specific steps that NASA and the community can take to further cross-disciplinary research.
