Advancing our understanding of ionospheric structure and variability via TEC measurements from buoys

Discussed here is a new capability that allows the deployment of GPS receivers on ocean buoys, a capability first deployed in 2018. Also discussed in a possible array deployment of receivers in a longitudinal array that will help ameliorate the dearth of data over ocean regions that hinders the comprehensive modeling and characterization of the ionosphere.
