Novel Observations of the Aurora (NOA) from New Platforms
We recommend a community-wide effort to develop new sensor capabilities for studying the aurora by RF and optical means. We find that polar ‘orbiting’ balloons and UAVs offer capabilities that are not available to ‘ground-based’ instruments.
