Measuring the Vector Electric Field in the Ionosphere

This white paper discusses the importance of electric field measurements on low Earth orbiting satellites in the Earth’s ionosphere at all latitudes. Such observations are critical to learning how the Earth’s coupled ion-neutral gases interact among themselves and with energy and momentum sources originating from the magnetosphere above and the troposphere below.
