Advancements in Thin Film Solar Array Technology to Enable Heliophysics Missions

Combining thin film solar array technology and solar sail technology will result in a large area thin film solar array that can achieve more than 300W/kg from a vehicle platform as small as a CubeSat. Investing in research and development projects that will close the technology gaps identified in this paper will enable future heliophysics missions to meet any high-power requirements.
