AtomDB: Updates to Models of X-ray Emission in Collisional Plasmas

The AtomDB Atomic Database (www.atomdb.org) provides a large database of atomic data for modeling emission from collisional plasmas in the X-rays and EUV wavebands, combined with a series of models for exploiting these in common analaysis programs such as XSPEC and Sherpa.

We present new models and updates to AtomDB. These include our new resonant scattering model, which for a range of plasma geometries include the effects of suppression in plasmas such as clusters of galaxies and even enhancement due to X-ray beaming such as in binary systems where resonance line photon intensities are increased by scattering.

We also introduce our newly updated uncertainty propagation models from AtomDB. This allows the effect of specific changes to atomic data to be quickly turned into an uncertainty on a range of plasma diagnostics and line ratios.

Finally, we discuss updates to the database contents and their effects on resulting plasma emission.
