Presentation #106.02 in the session AXIS.
The Advanced X-ray Imaging Satellite (AXIS) is a large effective area, high-resolution X-ray facility that will be proposed to the upcoming NASA Probe call. The combination of exceptional sensitivity and exquisite imaging enable a broad range of time-domain and multi-messenger science opportunities in the coming decade. In this poster we present an overview of some of the most compelling scientific questions that AXIS can uniquely address in the time-domain and multi-messenger realms - including X-ray counterparts to gravitational wave discoveries (both stellar and super-massive black holes), fast X-ray transients, supernovae, tidal disruption events, and X-ray binaries - achieving key goals identified by the 2020 Decadal Survey in Astronomy and Astrophysics.
