Binary Systems as Powerful Particle Accelerators

Binary Systems are powerful galactic particle accelerators that as a result emit gamma rays beyond multi-TeV. Recently, gamma-ray emission above tens of TeV has been detected from several of these objects. HAWC previously reported gamma-ray emission with a median energy of 25 TeV from the microquasar SS433, suggesting gamma-ray binary can accelerate particles to hundreds of TeV in the jet. With increased data and better reconstruction algorithms, the observatory detected emission > 20 TeV from two more binaries, V4641 Sagittarii and LS 5039. In this talk, I will present these results along with measurements of the spectral energy distribution and time-dependent flux of these sources and discuss the possible nature of the emission.
