NASA Future Investigators in NASA Earth and Space Science and Technology as Tool for Advancing IDEA Core Values in Astrophysics

The Future Investigators in NASA Earth and Space Science and Technology (FINESST) is a NASA Science Mission Directorate (SMD) wide program aimed at funding graduate students research. For many years it has been funded a wide variety of projects across many institutions, students career stages and nationalities. Inspired by the Astro 2020 DecadalSurvey we implemented changes to the ROSES23 call to increase the success rate of the program (currently at 12% rate) while continue our effort to foster Inclusion, Diversity, Equity and Accessibility principles. We will present the current status of the program in Astrophysics in its past and current format, as well as proposed changes for the incoming February 2024 deadline.
