Uncovering the Masses of Class 0/I Protostars via Keplerian Dynamics

Class 0/I protostars are in the earliest stage of protostellar evolution and remain deeply embedded within the molecular cloud. As a result, some of their properties are relatively unknown: the first measurement of the mass of a Class 0 protostar was made only in 2012. Since then only ~20 Class 0/I protostellar masses have been measured from a variety of observations with different spatial resolutions, spectral resolutions, and molecular tracers of disk rotation. We present ALMA Band 6 C18O 2-1 and SO 6(5)-5(4) observations of the disks and inner envelopes surrounding a sample of Class 0 and I protostars in the Perseus molecular cloud. This project systematically measured the masses of 10 Class 0/I protostars using Keplerian dynamics of their gas disks, now accounting for one-third of the known masses of Class 0/I protostars.
