The STROBE-X Mission Science Case

By combining a collecting area a factor of 10 larger than any previous X-ray mission with a wide field monitor with milliCrab sensitivity and arcminute localization, STROBE-X will revolutionize time domain studies in the X-ray band. It will also provide unprecedented spectroscopy capabilities for finding weak emission lines, especially at high energies, in moderately bright sources. I will discuss the broad range of discovery space that STROBE-X will open up.
