Characterization of CdTe strip detectors for FOXSI-4 sounding rocket experiment

The Focusing Optics X-ray Solar Imager (FOXSI) is a sounding rocket experiment that uses direct imaging techniques to observe the sun. The FOXSI-4 payload will carry double-sided CdTe strip detectors with enhanced counting ability, which will be paired with Wolter-I optics modules, aiming to produce high-resolution hard X-ray (HXR) images and spectra of a medium-to-large solar flare. Here we present results from the recent characterization of those detectors in the laboratory, including measurements of the gain, energy resolution, detector efficiency, and charge-sharing properties. Those measurements provide crucial information for accurate detector response modeling and ensure that the data obtained from the upcoming flight can be understood.
