Generation of Coronal EUV images beyond SDO/AIA’s field of view using Deep Learning

The Coronal EUV observations (AIA 171 & AIA 193 passbands) from SDO/AIA are available up to 1.28 Rs. These EUV observations are helpful in space weather applications. In this study, we generate the SDO/AIA like EUV images beyond the SDO/AIA field of view by utilizing the FOV of MLSO K-Coronagraph white light images (1.05 to 3Rs) using cGAN (Conditional Generative Adverserial Networks). The results from this study are as follows, First, the AI-generated EUV images are consistent with the target ones from 1.11 Rs to 1.25 Rs. Second, the coronal EUV images generated beyond the SDO/AIA’s field of view from 1.26 to 1.39 Rs seems to be consistent with the SUVI (Solar Ultra Violet Imager, FOV-1.6 Rs) EUV ones. Summing up, utilizing the available K-Cor images, the SDO/AIA like images beyond SDO/AIA’s FOV from 1.26 to 1.39 Rs can be generated. The solar coronal features like coronal jets/CMEs and helmet streamers in EUV counterparts can be generated beyond SDO/AIA’s FOV which will be helpful for space weather forecasting.
