Forward-Calculations of Surface Reflectance Phase Functions through Titan’s Atmosphere

We show radiative transfer calculations of various phase functions within Titan’s hazy atmosphere. Titan radiative transfer calculations typically assume Lambertian surface phase functions. Some surface terrains seems to deviate from Lambertian, however. We use the Monte Carlo radiative transfer program Spherical Radiative Transfer in C++ (SRTC++) to calculate phase functions for Lambertian, specular, forward-scattering, and backscattering surfaces in preparation for evaluating surface terrains’ phase functions from Cassini/VIMS data.
