A stationary bow shock model for the spherical obstacle in magnetic field perpendicular to the obstacle’s velocity.

Romashets, Poedts, and Vandas (2008) and Romashets and Vandas (2019) considered bow shock around the parabolic magnetosphere and solved it for the magneto-sheath magnetic field. Both parallel and perpendicular ambient magnetic fields are applied. Corona-Romero and Gonzales-Esparza (2012) considered the bow shock around a spherical obstacle in the parallel magnetic field. We apply here the methods from Romashets and Vandas (2019) for a spherical obstacle with a perpendicular ambient magnetic field. The results to be presented can be applied for magneto-sheath modeling of interplanetary coronal mass ejections. This research was supported by NSF grant 2230363. M.
