Presentation #402.01 in the session Probing Blazar Jets with Multi-wavelength Polarization.
In this contribution, we want to highlight the pivotal findings from the Imaging X-ray Polarimetry Explorer (IXPE) observations focused on blazars. IXPE’s unprecedented sensitivity to X-ray polarization unravels the complex dynamics and emission mechanisms of these objects. Through the study of more than a dozen blazars with IXPE, we delve into spectral and temporal behaviors, identifying key features of particle acceleration and characterizing magnetic field structures within blazar jets. These results significantly contribute not only to blazars as a astrophysical population but also to the advancement of our broader understanding of the complex high-energy phenomena involved in astrophysical jets.
