Library and Information Services in Astronomy (LISA) is a series of scientific meetings for librarians and scientists on the current state and future direction of information maintenance, retrieval, delivery, preservation as well as evaluation and information literacy in our profession. LISA IX was hosted virtually by the Royal Astronomical Society, 14–18 June 2021.

Project PHaEDRA is an ongoing initiative to preserve handwritten notebooks used at the Harvard College Observatory. In 2020, a new crowdsourcing element was added to the project in order to link the notebooks back to their source material: 500,000 glass plate photographs.

The Palermo Observatory glass plate negatives collection, thanks to the cooperation with the Course of Cultural Heritage conservation of the Palermo University, was conserved and made safely accessible to scholars.

This study was conducted using survey method and it aims to determine the use, awareness, and impact of arXiv on physics researchers. With a response rate of 73%, the analysis revealed that 94% of users use arXiv and more than 50% contribute to it.

The AAS has encouraged and enabled authors to practice good scientific citizenship by including relevant underlying research data in their published articles. A critical component is curation by our data editors, which is effectively a peer review of the published data.

This article describes the practices and policies of a defunct data journal. The IBVS is an interesting example from the pre-Open Science era and shows curation of research data in the long tail of science. Some features are obsolete, but others are unparalleled even now.
